My Mosaic!

The mosaic i made was of a Trefoil. A Trefoil or a "three leafed plant" is to resemble three rings over lapping each other. This symbol is used in Christianity and different types of architecture. The Trefoil got the idea from the three leafed clover.

The process of making my mosaic, was quite complicated and difficult to make. First of all before i started to make the outline of my mosaic. I had to find a symbol that i would like to do. After choosing a symbol. you had to print it out and then trace it. After tracing it you would dram a border around your symbol. Then you would choose colors that would go together and not take away from the picture. After you have down all that, you take the colors of paper and cut lines of the color out, so that you get tons of little boxes. Then you first glue the color of the boxes into the symbol, then you take a different color and glue it around the symbol. After doing all these steps. You do the border for the entire page. Then your done.

i chose this symbol because it looked really cool, the way it looked the colors that i used to make the mosaic. Doing this project was pretty hard because you had to line up the little boxes. Also you want to to try not to put to much glue on because then it screws up the entire picture.

I really liked this project, i think it was one of the best Ms. Moore has every come up with this semester.

St. Isabel Of France

Saint isabel is the sister of saint louses and the daughter of King Louis V111 of France. Saint Isabel had refused many offers from nobles for her hand in marriage. She was dedicated to consecrating her virginity for God.

Saint Isabel took care of the sick and the poor. She lived in Longchamps in Paris. While she lived there she did not become a nun and refused to become abbess. Which is a a woman who is the head of an abbey of nuns. Saint Isabel died at Longchamps on February 23, and her cult got approved in 1521. Isabel was born in March in 1225. Isabel's father died when she was 2 years old, and her mother Blanche who took Isabel's education in her hands. Isabel studied latin and became and expert in this language. She also got a religious education but it didn't last for a long time. After nine days her body was exhumed after her death. Then is showed no signs of decay and many miracles had accrued at her grave.

Female political leader

Since 1991 Argentinas economy has went down hill for the past 10 years all because of this one woman who has her head in the gutter. Her name is Cristina Fernandez or also known as CFK. She is a widow now because her husband NĂ©stor Kirchner the president before her. She is very first woman to have ever been elected for president. But because of this, it was a horrible idea to elect her for president, because first she has been steeling from the farmers by increasing the tax so that they would have to work harder and then give her the money or a part of the money. At first she had promised to improve the economy and make Argentina one of the greatest con tries in South America. But she has failed to do this. Ten years has past and she has done nothing but make in worse. In 2009, she struggled to muster more than a 30 percent approval in opinion polls. Because she has increased the tax and has ruined the economy people have started to commit more felines then ever before. There have been more then a dozen robberies in the past year and there have been 38 deaths in the past 3 years because of these robberies.

So in conclusion Cristina was the worst thing that could have ever happened to Argentina. All of argentina hopes that she will not be re elected for president next year.

Movie Review on Jesus Christ Super Star

Jesus Christ Super Star, was directed by Norman Jewison, and got a rating of 6.5 out of 10, according to IMDb, an internet database that rates movies based upon its thousands of registered users .  In my opinion, these thousands of registered voters are out of their minds.  This movie should be given a 3 out of ten, at most.  I will tell you in my review why I think this.

Norman Jewison directed Jesus Christ Superstar, and dozens of others.  The main actors in Jesus Christ Super star were Ted Neeley as Jesus Christ, Carl Anderson as Judas, and Yvonne Elliman as Mary Magdalene.  Jesus Christ Super Star was produced in 1973 in the US.  Jewison directed dozens of films including the Oscar award winning In the Heat of the Night, and Fiddler on a Roof.  Late in his career he won the prestigious Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award for lifetime achievement.  Despite these successes I think that the rating for this movie should at most be a 3 out 10.  Why? Because the movie didn’t make any sense.   It’s like the movie had no plot, and the songs that were sung didn’t go with what the setting was. Jesus Christ Superstar is a rock opera that was filmed in Jerusalem. The genre of the movie is a drama, history and musical.  The rock didn’t rock, the history was totally unclear and “the fat lady didn’t sing.”

Let me give you a short summary of the movie -- there is a man called, “Jesus”, a man who called himself the son of god.  He went around teaching the word of God, but the Jewish religious leaders didn’t support him, they thought he was a threat to their power and authority. However, the villagers supported Jesus and marketed him wildly to other people around Jerusalem.  After Jesus became popular and was beginning to get more power, the Jewish religious leaders got really scared and began to formulate a plan to catch and kill Jesus.  But they didn’t know where he was or what he looked liked.  One of Jesus’ old friends, Judas, didn’t like what Jesus was doing either so he went to the Jews and told them that Jesus would be having a dinner in the Garden of Gethsemane with his twelve apostles.   Judas betrayed Jesus in exchange for 30 silver coins.

I really liked the way they filmed the movie Jesus Christ Superstar even if I didn’t like the story, the way it was directed or acted.  The three was earned because of the filming and the way that they zoomed In on characters’ faces before starting the scene.  There were two scenes that were absolutely spectacular.  One of them was where Judas (Carl Anderson) was singing a song in the country.  It started out with him in one spot on a mountain, and then he started running and singing across the landscape.  The way they filmed him doing this was remarkable. They followed him, I think they did this with a rail.  Another great scene was when there was some kind of a Greek monument, which was almost fully destroyed. The camera was going in a circle around the middle of the structure. There were many columns, and then out of the blue, these people show up in the middle of the ruins. They are dancing. Then all these people run to the middle where Jesus is standing. While they are running, they also jump off boulders and walls.  When they jump the editor slowed the movie down so that it took longer for the people to hit the ground. It was a really cool effect to put in because it looked as if they were the ultimate parkour maniacs.  Then, when Jesus’ followers get to the middle they all dance differently.  Like ballet and hip-hop. While they are performing the camera men take  screen shots, so that the movie stops -- it gives the effect that the movie is on pause.

Even though the filming was remarkable in parts, Jesus Christ Superstar is not a movie I would recommend. People who are most likely to enjoy this movie would be ages 60 and up.  Any kids or grown ups would not like this movie unless they are super religious, and want to see if this movie accurately describes Jesus’ life or not.  If you don’t know anything about Jesus Christ, then this movie would be the worst movie to explain to you about how he died and how he tried to stick to his beliefs.  This movie misses some of the most important things that Jesus did, like his curing the sick, freeing the slaves, and other miracles.  In conclusion: this movie is one of the worst I have ever seen.  The fat lady never even made it to the theater.

The Fall of Rome

The most important thing why Rome fell was because of it government. The Government was growing at such a rate that it was way to fast. So when it was growing the people of Rome wanted for products like food and jewelry. Then their were government officials became dishonest and used their power to make them selves richer. Then there was a Civil war which used Romes resources, like people and the money that Rome had made.

I think that the epic growth of Rome really effected it the most. Rome should of inclined steadily instead of rising up really fast. If there were to grow slower they would have such seeded and not failed.

Who was a better leader Caesar or Augustus?

I think that Augustus was a better leader because first he made a 200 year steak of peace for rome, which was called the Pax Romana. Another great thing he did was he did concur places such as Spain, Bulgaria and Austria. But after concurring he did not continue like Caesar. Augustus stopped because he knew that the other countries knew that he was powerful and they did not want to mess with him, and because of that i think thats how the Pax Romana started because nobody wanted to stand up to fight the might Augstus, another thing that Augustus did that was great he made an army of 150,000 professional soldiers to defend the city.

This is why i thought Augustus was better then Caesar.
